2d to 3d cubes

Image
. Thinking about the design of a cube I thought it would be easy but it turns out the perfect cube has to have dimensions that make the cube all come together as one unit. I learned this while doing my paper craft cube, it all comes together perfectly when crafting it.  When doing my second cube since it had some artwork on it, it was hard to find the tabs like before, one mistake was I should have left the tabs white to have some guidelines on where to fold so that was a design mistake. I think it looks better and it is sturdier but it was a lot harder without the tabs.

Intro

My name is Rosaly Garcia and I am a Sophomore currently studying in Saint Xavier University majoring in graphic design. When it comes to design, I tend to notice different parks of design around me. Usually I love to see designs that are bright and unique but not nothing that is overwhelming to my eye. Currently I have started to think of my own designs on somethings both in 3d and 2d. In the past I used to work with a 3d printer in high school and it was a process to get done and I hope I have not forgotten about the things I learned in the past. Hopefully with this 3d design class I can be able to learn more about how designers deal with making their ideas come to life.
